Difference between Ripple and XRP

The main difference between Ripple and XRP is that while XRP is the cryptocurrency, Ripple is the company that releases products on it. XRP cryptocurrency was released in 2011 by Arthur Brito, David Schwartz, Chris Larsen, and Jed McCaleb. Ripple Labs Inc. was found in 2012 by Jed McCaleb and Chris Larsen to develop a payment system on top of the XRP ledger.
